Often overlaps with 'properly,' but the focus is that the amount, preparation, or result is adequate and not lacking.

• 時じ間かんはちゃんとあるから、慌あわてなくていい。

  We have enough time, so there is no need to panic.

• 朝あさご飯はんはちゃんと食たべた？

  Did you eat enough breakfast?

A rare or context-dependent sense listed. In modern everyday Japanese, ちゃんと normally means 'properly,' 'reliably,' or 'sufficiently,' so it should not be freely used to mean 'quickly.'

• 「ちゃんと」に「すぐに」という訳やく語ごが当あてられることもあるが、現げん代だいではまれだ。

  Sometimes ちゃんと is given a translation like 'right away,' but this is rare in modern usage.
