Used to indicate that a situation or action will continue for a while, but not permanently. Often implies a temporary measure.

当分の間は今のアパートに住むつもりだ。
I plan to stay in my current apartment for the present.
当面 also means 'for the time being', but is often used in more immediate or pressing contexts, such as '当面の問題' (the immediate problem).
