Usage patterns

• 〈人ひと〉を標ひょう的てきにするto target someone (e.g. for criticism or attack)

  その政せい治じ家かはマスコミの標ひょう的てきにされた。

  The politician became a target of the media.

• 〈物もの〉を標ひょう的てきにするto target something (a place, group, or system)

  ハッカーは政せい府ふのシステムを標ひょう的てきにした。

  The hackers targeted the government's system.

• 〈事こと〉の標ひょう的てきになるto become the target of something (criticism, an attack, etc.)
