ことからFact-based reason or grounds
ことから presents a fact or observation as the basis for a conclusion, classification, name, or account of how something developed.
From evidence to a conclusion
The clause before ことから should be an identifiable fact. The following clause then gives an inference, judgment, classification, name, or development that reasonably follows from that fact. The connection often resembles “from the fact that” or “on the grounds that,” rather than a casual “because.”

Notice that each first clause supplies evidence that makes the following statement understandable.
窓が内側から曇っていることから、室内の湿度が高いと考えられる。
From the fact that the windows are fogged on the inside, it can be concluded that the indoor humidity is high.

夜空がよく見えることから、この公園は「星見公園」と名付けられた。
Because the night sky is clearly visible there, the park was named “Stargazing Park.”

Choose a clear factual basis
The two parts need a transparent logical connection. Physical features can support an inference, records can support a historical judgment, and a distinctive property can explain a name. The construction sounds less natural when the first clause is merely the speaker’s taste, mood, or convenient excuse.
Reason, grounds, and conclusion
から gives an ordinary reason and is much more common in conversation. という理由で explicitly labels something as the stated reason, while ことから treats the fact itself as the basis from which a conclusion is drawn. ため can present a formal cause-result relationship without especially highlighting inference, naming, or origin. わけだ states the conclusion that follows; it does not introduce the supporting fact in the same way.

The fine scratches on its surface suggest that this vessel was used in daily life.

Because several records agree, it was determined that the event actually occurred.
Analyze周辺が静かなことから、この建物は研究施設として利用されている。
Because the surrounding area is quiet, this building is used as a research facility.

Since the parts used in the two machines follow the same standard, the machines were probably manufactured at the same factory.
Analyze現地に古い炉の跡が残っていることから、この集落では鉄器が作られていたと考えられる。
The remains of an old furnace at the site indicate that iron tools were probably made in this settlement.
Analyze道路が狭いことから、大型車の通行は禁止されている。
Because the road is narrow, large vehicles are prohibited from using it.
