dorsal stream; parietal stream
Neuroscience term for the visual pathway from primary visual cortex to parietal lobe, involved in spatial processing and visually guided actions. Also called the 'where' or 'how' pathway.
The dorsal stream is involved in spatial perception and motor control.
The ventral stream (腹側皮質視覚路) is the complementary visual pathway for object recognition and form representation, often called the 'what' pathway.
