  We will proceed with the plan as scheduled.

• 締しめ切きりに間まに合あうように、作さ業ぎょうを急いそいで進すすめた。

  We hurried the work along so we could meet the deadline.

• 会かい議ぎの日にっ程ていを一いち日にち進すすめた。

  We moved the meeting schedule up by one day.

Less common or old-fashioned in modern everyday Japanese. It can mean to raise someone or something to a higher rank or level, promote development, or stimulate appetite; modern Japanese often uses 昇進させる, 高める, 発展させる, 促進する, 食欲をそそる, or 食欲を増す instead.

• 功こう績せきにより、彼かれは一いっ階かい級きゅう進すすめられた。

  For his achievements, he was promoted by one rank.

• 古ふるい文ぶん章しょうでは、「産さん業ぎょうを進すすめる」が産さん業ぎょうを発はっ展てんさせる意い味みで使つかわれることがある。

  In older writing, 産業を進める can mean to develop industry.

• 「食しょく欲よくを進すすめる」は、今いまなら「食しょく欲よくをそそる」や「食しょく欲よくを増ます」と言いうことが多おおい。

  食欲を進める is more often expressed today as 食欲をそそる or 食欲を増す.
