Usage patterns

• 〈物もの〉を目め当あてに〈動どう詞し〉to do something using ~ as a landmark or goal

• 〈事こと〉目め当あてで〈動どう詞し〉to do something with ~ as one's motive

• 目め当あてがある／ないto have (or lack) a clear purpose or aim
