Used for arriving at an abstract endpoint: a conclusion, state, level, or result. Often follows に.

• 交こう渉しょうは合ごう意いに至いたった。

  The negotiations reached an agreement.

• 彼かれは努ど力りょくの末すえ、成せい功こうに至いたった。

  After much effort, he attained success.

Describes a road, path, or route leading to a physical location. Often used with 道 or similar nouns.

• この道みちは駅えきに至いたる。

  This road leads to the station.

• 彼かれに至いたっては、全まったく反はん省せいの色いろがない。

Archaic use for physical arrival or resulting in something. Modern Japanese prefers 来る or 着く for physical arrival.

• 古こ語ごでは「いたる」が単たんに「来くる」の意いで使つかわれた。

  In classical language, いたる was used simply to mean 'come'.
